If you are thinking about spinning, weaving, crocheting, felting, needle felting or knitting something special for that someone special, we have a creative idea for you. We specialize in batting that is wonderful to work with. Our batting is made from our own alpaca. We are the complete operation. We raise, shear and sell alpaca and alpaca products. Our process starts at shearing time, where we brush and clean the alpaca before shearing them. Because we do our own shearing, we can take our time. We keep second cuts to a minimum and do our own sorting. We divide the fiber into 3 different grades (A, B and C). We use only the finest and softest fiber in our grade A batting. After the sorting, we prepare the fiber for carding (which is done by us at our ranch). We do not blend different alpaca fiber together, instead we separate each blanket (grade A) and process only one blanket at a time. This insures that the batting you receive is from the alpaca you requested. We card all fiber twice to insure that it will spin up nicely. When you purchase at least 8 oz. of batting you will receive a picture of the alpaca it came from, along with a brief description.
As we complete each alpaca's fiber we will add it to this picture.
